Creative Harmony

Creative Harmony Volume I

Ernst Ueckermann: Creative Harmony

A do it yourself work-book

The three volumes of this book offer a practical and modern training in harmony for professionals and amateurs.

Although we are in the 21st century, harmony in the traditional sense is still very much part of our musical life today!
Surprisingly traditional harmony is still mostly taught and the music composed between 1600 and 1900 still mostly studied and performed to this day.
Much of the music composed presently is also harmony orientated: jazz-, folk-, popmusic, commercials, clips, gigs etc. which necessitates a modern view and use of harmony! This method combines both keyboard and theoretical harmony into one complete discipline.

Music is a living art so the study of harmony should be practical in the first place! Seeing the sense and use of harmonic knowledge is a practical one i.e. making music and giving insight and understanding for the music we learn, interpret, perform, teach etc. the relevant subjects are all discussed, developed and practised from a practical point of view and then deepened by theory and written exercise.
The basic principles of music are looked into aswell as the fundamental laws of harmony and their practical use for the musician of today.

Secondary laws and the traditional rules are naturally also discussed, practised and brought into perspective.

Creativity is the main objective!
So be creative and make really inspired and imaginative music.
